This blog is intended to be used when I begin my career overseas, but I figured I could get a headstart here and try to practice not sounding like a fool and being consistent with postings. I will also use this as a platform for UCI basketball while I can.
This is my first season out of college after graduating from Chico State. My college career ended last March when I hurt my knee during the conference tournament. Since then, I have been rehabilitaing so I can begin my career playing overseas. I was hired in August by my former coach at Chico as an assistant in the program here at UCI. We are currently in the middle of our conference season and have so far gone 3-12. Molly has the task of building a winning program from a program that had been mutilated the past 3-4 years. The great thing is that we have the tools we need to recruit great players and a coach that knows how to teach players to win. It has been a wonderful experience so far for me here.
I recently met a family from Austria who was here visiting another one of our assistants, and they are going to be very helpful in placing me overseas. So I will most likely end up in Austria. Until then, it will be more about UC Irvine and me experiences transitioning from small-town Chico to big-time Orange County.
